Here's the command-line I am using (username/session removed): cd \Users\RLUser\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft Starting Minecraft from the launcher works fine, sound and all.
Instead, I see Unable to play unknown soundEvent errors in the trace. With Minecraft 1.7.4 I can get almost all the way there, but I don't have any sound in-game. In the past I have been able to launch Minecraft 1.6 from the command-line, bypassing the launcher, and everything worked great.
